The Stories x Women Program, launched in 2022 as a collaborative initiative between the International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations (FIAPF) and Women in Animation (WIA), is back for 2025. This groundbreaking program is committed to increasing diversity in the global animation industry by supporting women creatives from emerging animation communities in Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
If you’re a woman or nonbinary creative with a passion for animation, this program offers a transformative opportunity to refine your skills, network with industry experts, and gain international exposure at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market.
What Makes Stories x Women Special?
The program is more than just mentorship—it’s an avenue for inclusion, creativity, and global networking. Selected delegates will:
1. Receive World-Class Mentorship
- Participate in personalized mentoring and coaching sessions led by internationally acclaimed animation experts.
- Gain valuable insights to develop and present your project professionally.
2. Pitch at Annecy 2025
- Showcase your project at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market in France, scheduled from June 9 to 15, 2025.
- Collaborate and connect with leading players in the animation industry.
3. All Expenses Covered
- Enjoy fully sponsored travel, lodging, and accreditations to Annecy.
Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
To qualify for this program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Project Team Requirements
- Teams of up to two members can apply, but at least one member must identify as a woman or nonbinary person and act as the Lead Project Holder.
Lead Project Holder
- Must serve as the director, screenwriter, or producer of the project.
- Should demonstrate prior collaboration on the project if applying as part of a team.
Project Specifications
- Your project must be ready-to-pitch, meaning it is in advanced development or pre-production. Eligible projects include:
- Animated features
- Animated documentary films
- Animated series projects
Other Requirements
- Must be a citizen of one of the eligible countries.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Possess fluent English skills for mentorship sessions and networking opportunities.
- Commit to attending all virtual mentorship sessions and the Annecy event.
