According to JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, candidates are responsible for selecting their examination towns. JAMB only allocates examination spaces based on availability.

“JAMB has observed unusual preferences among candidates regarding their choice of examination towns, likely in an effort to participate in the optional mock examination. This notice aims to advise candidates against desperately selecting examination towns, only to later accuse the board of assigning them to locations far from their residences, towns, or states.”
2️⃣ Be Mindful When Selecting an Examination Town
Candidates should carefully consider their exam town choices to avoid unnecessary travel inconveniences.
Key points to remember: ✔️ Once a town’s exam s are full, it will no longer be available for selection. ✔️ If you choose an exam town far from your home, JAMB will not be responsible for any difficulties you may face. ✔️ Travel logistics should be a major consideration when making your selection.
3️⃣ Why JAMB Conducts the Mock Examination
The JAMB mock examination is designed to: ✅ Help candidates familiarize themselves with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment. ✅ Allow JAMB to test its examination facilities before the main UTME.
“The board does not want to be overstressed, as the mock examination is only meant to give deserving candidates the opportunity to experience the CBT environment and enable the board to test its facilities,” Dr. Benjamin stated.
📝 Key Takeaways for Candidates
🔹 If you have not secured a mock exam slot yet, hurry and check the states still available. 🔹 Choose an examination town wisely to avoid travel difficulties. 🔹 Remember, the mock exam is optional but highly recommended for first-time UTME candidates.
