What is the JICA STI Graduate Scholarship?
This program, funded by Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA), aims to develop highly skilled professionals in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) fields. It fosters collaboration between universities in ASEAN member countries (AUN/SEED-Net) and top Japanese universities (JPUs). The program runs from 2023 to 2026 and focuses on ten engineering fields, including Chemical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

- Financial Support: JICA covers your tuition and exam fees, living allowance (ranging from JPY 117,000 to JPY 148,000 per month depending on location), airfare, outfit allowance, and moving allowances (for arrival and return trips).

Program Structure
The program is divided into two phases:

- Doctoral Program (3 years): Complete coursework, attend lectures, and conduct research for your thesis.
Who is Eligible?
- Faculty members or exceptional students from AUN/SEED-Net Member Institutions
- Citizens of Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam
- 35 years old or younger at the time of arrival in Japan
- Hold a Master’s degree (or on track to receive one)
- Demonstrate strong English language proficiency
- Not currently receiving another scholarship
