About the Scholarship
The Oxford-Pershing Square Graduate Scholarships cover the full course fees for both the Master’s and MBA programs. In addition, recipients receive a generous grant of at least £19,237 per year to cover living expenses for the two years of study.
Scholars have the opportunity to engage in a wide array of enriching experiences, including:
- Attending prestigious conferences
- Participating in termly events and activities within the scholar community
- Taking part in a spring ‘trek’ to New York, hosted by the Pershing Square Foundation

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Oxford-Pershing Square Graduate Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

- New Applicants to the Oxford 1+1 MBA Program:
- Candidates must apply to and be admitted to both a 1+1 MBA partnering program and the MBA. Those on the waiting list will not be considered.
- Applicants for Non-Partnering Master’s Courses:
- Individuals admitted to both a full-time, one-year Master’s course not currently listed as a 1+1 MBA partnering program, and the MBA (as a separate application), are also eligible.
- Current Master’s Students:
- Students who are already enrolled in a Master’s program at Oxford and have been admitted to the MBA but were not considered for the scholarship in the previous year may apply.
Selection Criteria
Candidates will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Academic Excellence: Demonstrated through degree results, GMAT or GRE scores, university prizes, and other academic achievements.
- Leadership Potential: Evidenced by previous experiences and a clear motivation to lead.
- Personal Integrity: A strong sense of character, integrity, and a commitment to making a difference.
- Social Impact Vision: A clear intention to address global social challenges, whether within an existing organization or by developing a new enterprise.
- Scalability and Sustainability: The ability to envision and articulate how to achieve scalable and sustainable solutions to these challenges.
- Alignment with Oxford 1+1 MBA: A well-articulated vision of how the Oxford 1+1 MBA program will enable you to achieve your goals.
Applicants should ensure these qualities are highlighted in their 1+1 MBA application, scholarship essay, and during the interview process.
Application Process
To apply for the Oxford-Pershing Square Graduate Scholarships, you must submit a complete application for both the Master’s course and the MBA. Be sure to upload your scholarship essay in the ‘Funding’ section of the 1+1 MBA program application by the deadline.
Essay Requirement:
In your scholarship essay, you must answer the following question in no more than 500 words:
“How do you intend to change the world, and what does this tell us about you as a person?”
